John Lance Geoghegan, Vietnam War 1959–1975. Geoghegan (PMC 1963) serves in Company C, 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry. He dies in combat during the Battle of Ia Drang in November 1965. He is portrayed in the book We Were Soldiers Once, and Young that is later made into a movie. As a result of this war, 10 PMC alumni die.
